생성형 AI 활용에 관한 연구윤리규정
- 제 1 조 (목적)
- 이 규정은 연구자가 생성형 인공지능(Generative AI)을 활용함에 따라 발생할 수 있는 연구윤리상의 제반 문제를 예방하고, 책임 있는 연구 수행 및 학술 활동을 유도하기 위한 기본 원칙을 정함을 목적으로 한다.
- 제 2 조 (정의)
- ① “생성형 인공지능”이라 함은 텍스트, 이미지, 코드, 음성, 미디어 등 새로운 콘텐츠를 생성할 수 있는 인공지능 기술을 말하며, 그 예로는 ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok 등이 있다.
- ② “연구자”라 함은 한국제임스조이스학회(James Joyce Society of Korea)의 정회원 또는 본 학회와 관련된 연구 활동에 참여하는 준회원 자격을 갖춘 자를 포함한다.
- 제 3 조 (생성형 인공지능의 활용 원칙)
- ① 생성형 인공지능을 활용하여 작성된 연구물은 연구자의 독립적이고 창의적인 학문적 성취로 간주되지 아니한다.
- ② 생성형 인공지능의 도움으로 작성된 결과물을 독창적 연구 성과로 제출하는 행위는 연구부정행위에 해당한다.
- ③ 생성형 인공지능은 문법 교정, 형식 수정, 단순 검색 등 보조적 도구로 제한하여 활용하여야 한다.
- 제 4 조 (연구 결과물 내 표기 기준)
- ① 생성형 인공지능의 활용이 논문 작성에 필수적인 경우, 연구자는 대화 로그 또는 활용 기록을 증빙하는 웹 링크 등을 논문에 명시하여야 한다. 인용 양식은 다음과 같다.
- - 개발사. 모델명. 버전. 웹 링크. 사용일자. Gen AI. (예: OpenAI. ChatGPT. GPT-4o. https://chat.openai.com/chat/xxxxx. 2025년 11월 1일. Gen AI.)
- ② 생성형 인공지능을 활용하여 검색, 브레인스토밍, 아이디어 생성 등의 작업을 수행하였으나 개별 인용이 어려운 경우에는 사사(acknowledgement) 표기 방식으로 해당 사실을 명시하여야 한다.
- 제 5 조 (자료의 정확성과 책임)
- ① 생성형 인공지능을 활용한 연구 결과물에 대하여 발생할 수 있는 표절, 저작권 침해 등의 문제에 대한 책임은 전적으로 연구자에게 있다.
- ② 생성형 인공지능은 사실과 다른 정보 또는 허구의 내용을 생성할 수 있으므로, 이에 대한 검증 및 평가 책임은 연구자에게 있다.
- ③ 인용 및 참고 문헌 작성 시, 생성형 인공지능이 생성한 정보의 원천자료 실존 여부를 반드시 확인하여야 하며, 이에 대한 책임 역시 연구자에게 있다.
- 부칙
- 이 규정은 2025년 11월 1일부터 시행한다.
Research Ethics Regulations on the Use of Generative AI
- Article 1 (Purpose)
- The purpose of these regulations is to establish fundamental principles to prevent potential ethical issues in research arising from the use of generative artificial intelligence (Generative AI) by researchers, and to promote responsible research conduct and academic activities.
- Article 2 (Definitions)
- ① “Generative artificial intelligence” refers to AI technologies capable of producing new content such as text, images, code, audio, and media. Examples include ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and Grok.
- ② “Researcher” refers to full members of the James Joyce Society of Korea or associate members participating in research activities related to the Society.
- Article 3 (Principles for the Use of Generative AI)
- ① Research outputs created using generative AI shall not be considered independent and creative academic achievements of the researcher.
- ② Submitting results produced with the assistance of generative AI as original research constitutes research misconduct.
- ③ Generative AI shall be used only as a supplementary tool, limited to grammar correction, formatting adjustments, and simple searches.
- Article 4 (Citation Standards in Research Outputs)
- ① If the use of generative AI is essential for writing a paper, the researcher must clearly indicate this in the paper, including a web link to conversation logs or usage records. The citation format is as follows: Developer. Model name. Version. Web link. Date of use. Gen AI. (e.g., OpenAI. ChatGPT. GPT-4o. https://chat.openai.com/chat/xxxxx.. November 1, 2025. Gen AI.)
- ② If generative AI was used for tasks such as searching, brainstorming, or idea generation but individual citations are not feasible, the researcher must disclose this in the acknowledgements section.
- Article 5 (Accuracy and Responsibility of Data)
- ① The researcher bears full responsibility for any issues such as plagiarism or copyright infringement that may arise from research outputs created using generative AI.
- ② As generative AI may produce inaccurate or fictitious information, the researcher is responsible for verifying and evaluating such content.
- ③ When preparing citations and references, the researcher must confirm the existence of source materials for information generated by generative AI and is responsible for this verification.
- Supplementary Provision
- These regulations shall take effect on November 1, 2025.
