Dear Honorable Joycean Scholars,
The James Joyce Society of Korea(JJSK) is holding the 9 th International James Joyce Conference with the title, ¡°Joyce Studies in East Asia: Perspectives and Prospects,¡± on-line via zoom on June 19th, this year.
It is a great pleasure and honor for us to begin the conference with a congratulatory message from Mr. Julian Clare, the Irish Ambassador to Korea, to whom we extend our hearty gratitude and appreciation. We are also happy to be able to invite seven great East Asian Joycean scholars as main speakers, anticipating their great presentations.
Uniquely, in this conference, instead of inviting a keynote speaker, we will have the representatives introduce the present research conditions on James Joyce in China, Japan, Taiwan, and Korea. In addition, instead of designating official discussants, we will have a free discussion on all the topics presented during the conference. Hopefully, this conference will be a great experience for us all to share and exchange hearty fellowship and plenty of academic ideas despite its small, short, and brief size. Extending our hearty gratitude to all the participants in this conference, we wish that all of us could overcome this unprecedented disaster of COVID-19 pandemic in the near future and meet face-to-face in a physical building with the benefits of more time and space. Please, join and enjoy the conference by clicking the following URL, and feel free to contact us for any queries or problems.May God Bless You with all His Heart and Love! With the Best Regards Cheol-soo Kim, Ph.
